Junior Department

Upper Juniors

Children joining this group usually already play an instrument, do solfeggio and attend Junior Choir 2. The youngest children in this group are 4 and the oldest 9 years old. Those who have already played the first instrument for some time, might want to choose the second instrument. We encourage all pupils whose main instrument is not the piano, to do piano as the second instrument because piano being a polyphonic instrument, is important for solfeggio and future harmony studies, and also for deeper understanding of music in general and of ensemble playing in particular.

Upper Juniors engage in chamber music and can also start composition and music history.
