From Baroque to Romantic

Camerata Tchaikovsky 3 February 2024

Camerata Tchaikovsky is one of the finest UK chamber orchestras. Its founders - the violinist, violist and conductor Yuri Zhislin and the violinist Natalia Lomeiko come from the families of long standing music tradition and were fortunate to have opportunities to play with professional orchestras from a very young age. They have been very keen to give the same opportunities to the new generation of gifted young musicians, and this was the purpose of our joint project which started in 2022 and which made it possible for many young musicians to have a chance to perform with a professional orchestra.

The forthcoming concert will include young soloists performing movements from famous violin and piano concertos by great Baroque and Viennese Classical composers. You will hear Vivaldi's concerto for 4 violins in B minor, Bach's Keyboard Concerto in D minor, Haydn's Piano concerto no. 11 in D major, Mozart's Violin concerto no.4 in D major and Beethoven's concerto no.2 in B flat major.

The concert will conclude with Camerata Tchaikovsky performing Tchaikovsky's famous Andante Cantabile - the second movement from his String Quartet no.1, op. 11 arranged for chamber orchestra and Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante arranged for Septet by Yuri Zhislin.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the Rosslyn Hill on the 3 February!
